Job Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, utilizing bookkeeping skills across several operating entities as well as day to day operations skills in a thriving real estate brokerage/office. -The position is primarily in-office at the Amherst Madison HQ on Benjamin lane in Boise, however, there will likely be a transition in the role to partially remote once you are settled in the role.
The operating entities for which you will be responsible, on the bookkeeping side, are all related to real estate brokerage, the sale or representation of real estate, developing real estate, or real estate investing. -While not impossible, it will be extremely difficult to be successful in this role without some kind of experience and/or knowledge of the real estate industry.
This is primarily a back-office position with some opportunity for interpersonal skills and customer service interactions when assisting the office manager or agent services with their role. While we most certainly need you to be an expert in your books and bookkeeping, the ideal candidate will also enjoy the variety of being able to step away from that (literally) to perform operations admin and operations support functions.

Indeed the people themselves must evolve in order to grow and keep pace with the needs of the organization. -The ideal candidate will not only understand this dynamic but indeed will embrace it.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Operations ( Illustrative only and may vary by assignment):
Manage the orientation and onboarding of all new employees (staff members) to the company.
Contract review and specialization - contract administration (not drafting nor creating) with staff members and agents.
Working knowledge of all office equipment & office systems including: printer/scanner, display monitors & associated equipment, office phone system, cloud storage, door locking and key fobs, office security, "textmarks" (mass texting), training calendar, etc. Take ownership of the equipment and office systems. The Office Manager will maintain these systems on a day-to-day basis but you must be able to understand, backup, and provide oversight here in addition to the office manager.
Set up and manage all agent dues, desk leasing, E&O billing, print billing, and any other recurring or one-time charges due from agents to the brokerage.
Manage office and desk leasing as well as assignment and turnover. Your objective is to keep all desks leased at the Benjamin office and to maintain a waiting list or lists if necessary (if at full capacity). Be willing to notify and correct poor behavior, overcrowding, late payments, etc.
Assist the office manager with maintenance of supplies, office cleanliness and order, preparing for sales meetings, cleanup after sales meetings, inventory control and systems surrounding the same.
Assist Agent Services with customer service, agent onboarding, and special projects as assigned

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Bookkeeping ( Illustrative only and may vary by assignment):
Allocate and post financial transaction details to subsidiary books
Reconcile and balance all accounts every month
Collate and analyze account data and generate financial reports
Prepare checks, payments and bank deposits
Prepare and process payroll
Comply with relevant reporting requirements
Calculate and prepare tax payments
Assist with budget preparation & audits
Prepare all annual 1099 and W2 statements for agents and staff members
Maintain complete filing system to support financial records
Brokerage liaison to health insurance provider and primary in-house resource on the details of those benefits and that policy.
Brokerage liaison to third party bookkeeping companies who may assist or retain certain aspects of the books for specific entities.

Skills and/or Abilities and/or Education ( illustrative only, not an exhaustive list):
Required - 2 years of experience as a bookkeeper
Preferred - relevant experience managing the books for a real estate brokerage, real estate team, real estate investor, or real estate developer.
Preferred - Bachelors degree in Accounting
Required - Expert knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO), online banking & bill pay systems, cloud storage and cloud operations (we are a cloud-based company we do not have a server or physical files on site).
Required - Ability & willingness to work remotely if necessary.

This employee must have sufficient mental capability to effectively manage subordinate employees and administrative functions, conduct telephone, video and in-person communication, must be able to coordinate and conduct detailed financial planning and audits to a professionally certain level of exactness. -Although most work will be conducted within an office environment where the noise level is moderate, the employee may be expected to work from home, or while on business-related travel. -The employee is required to supervise subordinate during their performance of their assigned job duties. -The employee will be required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, grasp, type, operate a 10-Key calculation , and reach repeatedly and may be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
Dress Code:
Dress code to be defined as business professional. This position, in particular, is to set a leadership tone at the office in terms of a high class of professional attire. The following are not allowed: jeans (unless designer and high quality), shorts, open shoes without a heel, t-shirts, yoga pants, sweat pants, or anything with holes or excessive wear. You are the first and last thing people will see and remember. If you need a stipend to purchase a few business professional outfits, please ask and it will be provided to you. If you need further definition as to what is "business professional" attire, please reference google.
Travel may be required for this position.
