Location: Twin Falls, IDReports to: Vice President, Human Resources The Opportunity:This position is responsible for administering Agri-Service's payroll. Prepares and balances bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees. Maintains and updates HRIS. Works with and provides back up for the HR Assistant.Completes timely accurate preparation and balancing of bi-weekly payroll and any applicable supplemental payrolls to include uploading hourly time and salaried PTO time and processing. Balances payroll to ensure accuracy. Confidentially handles sensitive information and situations.Enters, maintains, and processes payroll deductions including taxes, 401K, and insurance benefits.Processes legal transactions related to payroll deductions such as court orders and garnishments.Creates and transmits payroll files for direct deposit advices, 401K, benefits, accounting, and more.Maintains the accuracy of all accruals, earnings, and deductions. Processes termination payroll checks in a timely manner to ensure that compliance requirements and company policies are met. Updates employer payroll tax liability rates and information annually or whenever applicable.Provides tax authority information, rates and identification numbers to Payment Services when needed and/or requested.Monitors payments of federal and state taxes in accordance to payroll timelines. Review and file quarterly report packages for federal and states taxes.Provides information to employees and managers on payroll matters and tax issues. Recommends, creates, and maintains internal payroll policies and procedures. Ensures policies and procedures meet company and legal requirements.Manages company vehicle personal mileage fringe benefit process and annual true-up calculations.Keeps informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process. Prepares new payroll schedule for upcoming year. Processes all year end activities, paying close attention to deadlines. Balances and closes the calendar year payroll.Creates and distributes employee W-2s & 1095-C's in a timely manner; Prepares 1094-C transmittal.Familiar with benefits and assists with employee benefit-related questions, open enrollment set-up, meetings & execution on annual basis.Guides supervisors/managers on inputting changes in the Self-Service system.Creates training aids for supervisors/managers on timekeeping, payroll processes and benefits processes.Completes verifications of employment.Creates and runs payroll reports as needed for other departments.Act as back up to the HR Assistant when he/she is away from work which includes entering and setting up new hires, benefit approvals and documentation audit, status changes, life event approval, initiate performance reviews.Works safely at all times. Adheres to all applicable safety policies. Complies with all company policies, procedures and standards.Works within and promotes corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of payroll related laws and regulations. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentialityAbility to establish and maintain effective work relationships, internally and externally, with a high degree of professionalism and excellent customer service/interpersonal/communication skills.Strong organization and multi-tasking skillsSuperior attention to detail and possesses problem solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to perform multiple tasks with extreme accuracy under deadlinesAbility to manage conflicting demands and prioritiesProficient in the use of Microsoft computer products or other comparable systems required.Proficient in the use of HRIS/payroll system. Experience with Ultimate Software a plus.Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize daily job tasks to maintain high quality, timely service to internal and external customers with limited supervision.Consistent attendance. Education and Experience: Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.Two years of college in an accounting or finance discipline preferred.Three years of payroll experience required. Must be able to communicate in English (speak, read, comprehend, write). Physical Characteristics: Must be able to sit for long periods of time along with walking, standing, climbing stairs, reaching pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies.
