Job Description:
Salary $48,000-$55,000Position Summary -This person will be
-responsible for -the -disbursement, -management -and -reporting
-of -financial data and -Council funds -relating to the accounts
payable, accounts receivable and general ledger systems of the
council in accordance with -its -policies and procedures.
Accountable for Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, keeping
financial records in accordance with State and Federal laws, for
staying informed of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. approved practices
and for maintaining confidentiality in all matters. -He/she -will
also be -is responsible for Council payroll preparation and
distribution. -Key Responsibilities -
Responsible for Accounts Payable -&
Cash Disbursements -by processing and verifying invoices and check
requests for proper account codes, department codes, discounts,
payment terms and the appropriate signature approvalResponsible for
processing bi-weekly payroll, reports and -filing all -payroll
-taxes. - -Responsible -filing -and remitting monthly, -quarterly
and - annual reports. -Responsible -for -recording, -balancing,
-and -managing -all -deposits. - -Responsible for -completion -of
monthly bank reconciliations -Records monthly -recurring journal
entries and adjustments. - -Produces & -mails -monthly -invoices
-as -requested. -Maintains -all vendor information. -Maintains
-purchase requisition system. -Manages organization -credit cards.
-Create and maintain financial records and filing system in an
efficient and effective way to ensure accuracy, and ease of
information/invoice retrieval.. -Processes -all -vendor, 1099, -and
-annual -filings. -Maintains -various -balance sheet -ledgers,
journals, registers, and other fiscal records; classifies
expenditures and posts to various accounts as required. -Receives
-and posts -bad debt to collection agency. -Processes -and file
-troop "Plan Activity" -insurance claims. -Assists with -the
-production of management reports and analyzation -of key data. -
-Account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations as
assigned.Assists -with annual audit. -Recommends -accounting and
internal controls policies as needed. - -Conducts
-projects/worksheets for other departments as requested. -Adheres
to Council and GSUSA policies, standards, procedures and Girl Scout
Promise and Law. - -Supports and promotes the Council's and GSUSA's
commitment to diversity, inclusion, and pluralism. -In the absence
of the Finance Director acts as second-in-command
internally/externally as neededOther duties as assigned to reach
the goals of -the -Council. -Required Skills -and Abilities
Strong attention to detail, able to
organize and prioritize working -independently. -Ability to
organize work and implement -procedures. -Proficient in Microsoft
Office Suite including Outlook, Power Point, Word, and Excel Team
player who focuses on building relationships both internal and
external to the organization -Flexible, focused, extremely
disciplined, and able to work under pressure with fluctuating
volumes of -work. -Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Ability to maintain -confidentiality. -Requires the physical
mobility to sit or walk for moderate periods of time and to
occasionally carry or lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
-Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting,
business, finance, or a closely related field or an equivalent
combination of education and experience, substituting one year of
bookkeeping for each year of the required -degree. Demonstrated
experience partnering with different departments.Experience in
accounting platforms (Abila MIP preferred.)Core Competencies:
