Typical Day in the LifeA typical day as a Government Audit Senior
Associate might include the following:Initiate kickoff meeting with
main client and determine timelines, goals and expectations of an
engagement. You will work primarily with the Government
Industry.
- Lead the engagement meeting with audit team members and share
your knowledge from the client call. This is where you will set
timelines, assign roles and determine goals for the audit.
- Conduct fraud interviews on an as-needed basis with those
charged with governance, finance directors, accountants and other
employees.
- Provide financial analysis upon completion of fieldwork in an
effort to improve client internal controls and accounting
procedures.
- Coach staff and train on areas of audit and collaborate on how
to best handle aspects of the engagement.
- Review staff work, prepare high risk audit sections, and draft
financial statements.
- Perform research, document conclusions and assist in
implementation of new accounting standards and updates.
- Network, build relationships and attract new clients or
business to the Firm.
- Attend training seminars, professional development and
networking events.
Who You Are
- You are inquisitive and enjoy learning about various client
business processes. Travel is typically 5-15 percent.
- You are motivated to learn and are looking to get promoted
throughout your career.
- You like the challenge of in-charging engagements and providing
constructive feedback to other team members.
- You have the ability to multi-task and prioritize, and there
has never been a deadline you could not meet.
- You have excellent communication skills as well as the ability
to effectively interact with all levels of Firm management and
staff, clients and other external business contacts.
- You have experience at performing audit engagements in a remote
environment and have the discipline, skills and ability to lead a
team in the office, at a client site or remotely.
- You have knowledge of and exposure to auditing and reporting
for mid-size local governments.
- You are a team player and love collaborating with others.
- You hold yourself to the highest professional standards and
maintain strict client confidentiality.
- In addition to all of this, you have an active CPA license or
have the required degree and/or course specific hours to be able to
sit for the CPA exam and are active in attempting the CPA
exam.
- You have at least three years of experience in public
accounting audit work, including specific experience leading
government audits and single audit engagements.Must be authorized
to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of
sponsorship at any point in the future. Benefits and
CompensationOur compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and
equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state
regulations regarding displaying salary ranges. Final compensation
decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience,
education, skills, and internal equity. Salary Range: Low $68,000 -
High $80,000 Beyond base salary, Eide Bailly provides benefits such
