The
selected candidate will join our Field Application team in Boise ID
to support
our key customer on daily basis. He/she will play a key role in
enabling our
business success through inspection and/or metrology recipe
development for
customer's yield improvement and provide input to internal
stakeholders on
customer needs and gaps.
This position may require access to controlled
technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15
C.F.R. *
730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to
access such
controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may
require the
Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to
access
controlled technology.Role and responsibilities
Job Description
Work closely with customer on a daily basis, via
remote tool access and in-person on-site, to develop inspection and
metrology
recipes using world's most advanced e-beam inspection (EBI)
equipment for
defect detection and CD monitoring, to help customer improve
their
semiconductor process yield.
Generate and monitor results from inline defect inspection
or CD Metrology results, making sure data quality meets or exceeds
the
customer's requirement to improve yield and transfer process
technologies to
high-volume manufacturing. Drive up HMI tool's utilization through
high quality
recipe development, gap defect closure and in-depth technical
engagement with
customer defect and metrology teams.
Execute routine recipe and new product focused
projects at customer site. Work closely with the technical support
team and
R&D to secure the success. Support application activities in
global
customer Fabs, attending meetings across time zones. Identify
conditions to
close gap defects, implement tool and procedural CIP, Coordinate
transfer of recipes
from TD to HVM. Generating reports and BKMs for new application
cases and sharing
with global Application teams is an essential deliverable for the
field
application engineering role.
Additionally, the role supports product
development by identifying gaps between tool's capability and
customer
detection & metrology needs, providing feedback to Marketing and
R&D
teams, testing of new feature development, and proposing new
functions, features,
and documenting bugs. Work with Field Service to verify tool status
after preventative
maintenance and tool down incidents. Collaborate with second and
third-line
support teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely
manner.
Education and experience
Master's degree in Physics, Material Science, Electrical
Engineering, or other related engineering fields.PhD degree is
desired.
At least 3 years of relevant, work related experience with
semiconductor "fab-based" automated scanning electron microscopes.
Direct experience with voltage contrast inspection techniques is
preferred. Candidates with optical defect inspection experience are
encouraged to apply.
Demonstrable knowledge of Semiconductor processing and device
physics, as well as the ability to describe the core elements of
DRAM and 3D NAND memory technologies. Familiarity with Graphic
Design System (GDS), Electronic Design Automation (EDA) or other
software packages for yield analysis and reporting is a plus.
The role also requires data reduction and analysis, using MATLAB,
JMP or Python scripting to improve workflows, troubleshoot, and
presenting to customers and internal stakeholders.
A successful candidate will deliver robust inspection applications
on cutting-edge equipment while working in a fast-paced and
demanding production environment. Time management, customer
management, prioritization, and problem solving skills are key to

Defect inspection applications are developed on the e-beam
inspection tool and through off-line analysis of images,
measurement gauges and GDS layers. Recipes are developed
cooperatively with the customer.
Travel up to 25%, in Boise or internationally is required.

Role within the Factory:Responsibilities
Must be willing to work in a clean room (fab) environment, wearing
coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire
duration of shift.
To work on-site at the customer facility, you must be able to
comply with our customer's COVID-19 policy. Requires reporting
CDC-compliant proof of double vaccination, or documenting a valid
reason for exemption (e..g., medical or religious exemption).
Entrance to the customer site may require on-site testing for
