Senior Distribution Engineer
Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Distribution Engineer for
the Power Delivery Distribution Department in Boise, ID; Billings,
MT or Salt Lake City, UT. The qualified candidate must be familiar
with the design and operation of utility distribution systems by
either being directly employed by an electric utility company's
distribution department, or by consulting in distribution planning
and design for an electric utility company. This will be a hybrid
role, which means you'll be able to work in a fun team-oriented
office environment, as well as from the comfort of your own home.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Engineering and design for overhead and underground systems in
varying electrical and environment conditions, with varying client
and industry standards will be a primary responsibility
The ability to have direct, positive client interaction on all
phases of projects is expected
Leading teams of engineers, designers, field personnel, and
drafters to complete projects is expected
Assisting with developing proposals, work plans, budgets, and
schedules as well as assisting with managing each element will be
required
The ability to apply engineering calculations to various project
challenges to develop the most complete and competent design
The ability to review and sign/seal engineering packages and
reports is required
Required Education/Experience
A Bachelor of Science in Engineering; preferably electrical, civil,
or mechanical
Nine (9) + years of utility distribution experience
A registered Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain
registration
Significant knowledge of the design and operation of overhead and
underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV)
The qualified candidate should be experienced with utility
standards, NEC, NESC, joint facilities design, compatible units,
and construction package development
The qualified candidate should have prior working relationship with
utilities in the Central United States
Must be able to successfully pass client's background screening
process
Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving
record
Desired Education/Experience
Development and maintenance of PLS-CADD model to support design
including population of design criteria, demonstration of clear
understanding of design aspects and processes behind the program,
capable of navigating PLS-POLE and PLS-TOWER, if applicable,
adherence to the Clients' PLS-processes and standards
A Master's degree in Engineering or Management will be
evaluated
Certification for a Project Management Professional will be
evaluated
Exposure to Work Management programs such as Maximo, SAP, etc.
Electrical loading and analysis programs such as CYMCAP
Strong command of the English language and possess good written and
oral communications skills
Travel should be expected

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $74k - $141k per
year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the
candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This
figure does not include additional compensation such as health
benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
