Simplot Company is a true farm-to-table company with operations that touch every aspect of agriculture, including seed production, farming and ranching, plant sciences, fertilizer manufacturing, food processing, commercial product development, and distribution.SummaryThe Senior Process Engineer will act as the subject matter expert for our Ammonia Operations for the JR Simplot Mining and Manufacturing Division of Agribusiness. The primary responsibility is the development, implementation, and support of optimization and reliability strategies for the Ammonia Plant in Rock Springs, WY. Home office can be located at one of our production facilities in Rock Springs, WY or Pocatello, ID. The position can also be based at our Corporate office in Boise, ID. Required travel for the position can be as high as 50% depending on the home office location.Key Responsibilities Evaluate processes and operations and make recommendations to improve efficiency, reliability, throughput, and quality Provide technical support for process troubleshooting Participate in root cause analyses / incident investigations Provide input to safety and regulatory efforts including PSM requirements and Process Hazard Analyses Provide support for environmental and permitting efforts Provide process support for various improvement, maintenance, and/or debottlenecking projects Provide technical support to operations and maintenance personnel Mentor engineering personnel Develop and implement best practices across facilities for the handling, storage, and processing of ammonia Provide technical support in the creation and maintenance of engineering documents (Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, operating procedures, equipment specifications, etc.)
This position reports to the Director of Process Engineering in Boise, ID and will provide support to several facilities in the pacific northwestTypical Education
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
