Geotechnical (Pavement) Project Engineer

The prospective candidate has experience with pavement-related construction, materials testing, design and forensic evaluations.Laboratory and materials experience will include at a minimum soils, aggregates, asphaltic concrete, and Portland cement concrete.Preference to candidate with working knowledge of AASHTOWare M- E and experience in FWD and GPR testing and analysis, as well as subgrade stabilization.Strong writing and deductive reasoning skills are required.Position offers the opportunity to work with Senior Pavement Engineers, and with other offices on projects across the U.S. without extensive travel.
This may include performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports.Identify potential projects and clients to develop business opportunities in the field pavements engineering.Prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and recommend changes.Research and resolve design and construction problems.Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports.Apply sound engineering principles and be able to communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project team members.Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in the transportation, public works, commercial, communications, energy, and/or industrial sectors.
Participate in pre-task planning.
