Description:Summary & BackgroundWe are searching for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our team and to drive the rapid growth in sales of healthy food, i.e. "better for you" products, primarily through retail distributors and retail chains. The Director of National Sales will enjoy developing customer relationships at all levels in the Retail chains and distribution channels.This individual should have deep experience in the branded food arena. The ideal candidate thrives on delighting customers by building and implementing innovative and relevant sales and marketing plans, including developing sales projections and tracking progress against those projections.Furthermore, this role will leverage his or her relationships in the natural foods and supermarket channels, as well as retail distributor channels to drive sales. The role presents a great opportunity to build a strategy for the sales and marketing of the Funny Farm brand nationwide.About Funny Farm Foods - What began as a small goat milk ice cream company in Wisconsin, has grown into a national brand with an extensive portfolio of goat milk product offerings to include boxed macaroni & cheese, ice cream, cheddar popcorns and block cheese. We are the first and only brand that offers a full portfolio of goat cheese based products.To this day, our grass-fed goat milk is still produced on those very same Wisconsin family farms. We pride ourselves on the top-notch quality of our products and the tastes speaks volumes.Duties and ResponsibilitiesRetail Sales & Marketing

  • Primarily responsible for the development and implementation of national sales and marketing plans that ensure achievement of sales profitability and growth
  • Management of the Funny Farm brand's Gross Margin and P&L.
  • Use data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new customers and markets
  • Develop sales goals for each customer, monitor progress toward those goals, and develop strategies to attract and retain customers
  • Leverage your existing and new relationships with Retail Distributors, Retail Chains, and natural food channels to execute the sales and marketing plans
  • Work with and manage brokers to plan and execute retailer specific sales strategies
  • Delight in developing and nurturing customer relationships at all levels
  • Develop marketing programs and promotions to increase sales and/or introduce new products or services
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute above strategies. Provide timely information to all stakeholders to meet the customer requests and needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of market, competition, and trends
  • Travel as permitted, and could occur 30% to 40% of the time.OtherWith a focus on continuous improvement of standards and practices, ensure that regulatory compliance and customer specifications are met.. Requirements:Essential Skills
    • Thorough understanding of retail, distribution, and logistics within food industry
    • Strong persuasive selling and negotiation skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams (or similar video platform)
    • Must be able to regularly travel throughout the United States
