Indirect Regional Sr. Supplier Manager at Micron Technology, Inc.,
you will be the primary category point of contact for supplier
interactions, supplier performance management and negotiations. In
this role, you will actively engage and partner with internal
stakeholders to build sourcing strategies, procure and orchestrate
regular comprehensive supplier performance reviews.You will lead
the development and implementation of category strategies and
projects related, and not limited to, cost reduction initiatives,
supply base optimization and contract negotiation. This is
accomplished through building and maintaining supplier
relationships to meet category and stakeholder requirements. This
includes implementing structure needed to pull a team around a
shared goal, prioritize, coordinate expectations, define R, plan
schedule, ensure alignment and continuously lead execution so
everyone crosses the finish line together, delivering desired
business outcomes. In this role, you will engage in market,
category/segment and supplier benchmarking analysis to formulate,
lead and implement strategies that optimize cost, supply and
quality. Additional responsibilities include coordinating execution
and deliverables to achieve desired results; negotiating terms,
conditions and pricing to leverage spend; leading and participating
in department projects and serving as a contact for regional
supplier information.Responsibilities and TasksLead Supplier
Relationship Regionally (in North America)Act as primary point of
contact for assigned suppliers in categoryPerform commercial
supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial
development of strategic suppliersMaintain relationships with
supplier(s) while effectively resolving supplier
performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with Micron's
strategic directionEnsure suppliers follow Micron's code-of-conduct
programs and corporate social responsibility initiativesCommunicate
key supplier management updates and decisions to multiple levels in
the organization including Senior Leaders or ExecutivesEnlist
senior management, when appropriate, to help reinforce commitment
and involvement from suppliersProvide the voice of the supply base
to Micron and provide the voice of Micron to the supply
baseIdentify and Implement Supplier-Related Cost Savings
LeversProvide market intelligence and category price trends to
relevant internal customers on a focused scheduleUse cost analysis
and models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and
relevant to the regional marketplaceServe as the center of
knowledge for assigned category and share knowledge with key
stakeholders and members of the category teams to enable more
effective planning, forecasting and executionDrive Negotiations
with Suppliers for Sustaining PurchasesLead or participate in
negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of
prices, transfers, etc.Coordinate with Global Category Supplier
Manager (where relevant) or lead sourcing events/RFQ process into
bundled negotiationIncorporate savings targets and contract
requirements into negotiateDevelop a contract strategy for
suppliers in assigned categories and create, negotiate monitor and
enforce contracted terms and conditionsEnsure Supplier Performance
ManagementPartner with team members to build comprehensive view of
supplier performanceCollect and relay site specific priorities to
suppliersOwn overall Supplier Relationships within the assigned
categoriesCollaborate internally to drive and develop key
performance measures/metrics for key regional suppliers, and
monitor supplier performance against these expectations to ensure
continuous supplier improvementLead in organizing and delivering on
strategic supplier events, such as Quarterly Business Reviews,
Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review
MeetingsEducationBachelor's Degree or higherPMP certification or
equivalent, preferredExperienceLead multiple large-scale projects
(sourcing events) concurrently, ability to work with minimal
supervision; strong project management skills5+ years experience in
strategic sourcingProficient in MS officeAbility to create and
deliver executive-level presentations to Senior Leaders and
ExecutivesCandidate with prior experience in similar roles strongly
preferredNegotiation skillsPossess excellent verbal and written
communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse group
of executives, managers, and subject matter expertsThis role
provides flexibility! You may work remotely two days per week.
