product development, and distribution.SummaryThis role reports to
the VP, Business Development and Optimization for AgriBusiness and
is responsible for providing leadership in the execution of the
business development and optimization programs and processes across
all business segments. This role is key in evaluating, selecting,
progressing, and implementing critical growth strategies through
advanced market research and analytics, financial modeling, due
diligence, integration planning, and comprehensive project
management.Key Responsibilities Business Development/Market
Analytics: Assist in the execution of the business development
process and the deployment of key strategic initiatives as
developed by the Business Unit Leadership Team, to include but not
limited to: M&A opportunities, new product offerings, joint
venture arrangements, business and operational optimization
studies, and the development of tactical business
growth/diversification plans. Support efforts to scan business
environment for potential acquisitions that align to strategic
growth goals and compliment other pipeline opportunities.
Financial Modeling and Reviews: Conduct new business development
reviews of potential opportunities that include strategic, market,
operational and financial feasibility assessments. Create dynamic
financial forecast models that provide critical quantitative and
qualitative analyses to determine the various financial aspects of
potential investments, including synergy assessment, profitability
analysis, and pro forma modeling utilizing various valuation
methodologies and measurements (IRR, ROE, ROA, payback period,
discounted cash flows, etc.).
Negotiations: Participate in the negotiations and execution of
business proposals, licensing agreements and other agreements.
Project/Program Management: Direct/coordinate activities during the
due diligence and integration phases of M&A activities.
Coordinate and lead meetings with Senior management, including the
creation and delivery of executive summaries for appropriate
parties. Manage external advisors/consultants. Work closely with
business teams, internal functional experts (e.g., legal,
accounting, tax, etc.), and outside advisors to support execution,
obtain senior management approvals, ensure transaction closing and
support integration efforts. Facilitate post-initiative debrief
sessions to analyze findings and to support the continuous
improvements of Business Development processes and procedures.
Assist in building executive level presentations for AgriBusiness
strategy and business update presentations.
Perform other duties as assigned by Vice President, Corporate
Development.Typical Education Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from
4 year college or university. Master's degree in business and/or
related field preferred. Relevant Experience 3+ years related
experience and/or training in M&A for Manager Level
6+ years related experience and/or training in M&A for Senior
Manager Level
Activities with an emphasis on financial analysis/modeling, due
diligence and integration work.
Strong knowledge of Excel and the application of finance and
accounting concepts, including industry-standard valuation
methodologies. Formal training in financial modeling either through
course or an employer's training program and experience translating
raw financial and operating data into concise, informative reports,
and communicating and explaining the results in plain language is
required. Exposure to evaluating agricultural businesses is
strongly preferred; you have the drive to digest all available
information to develop a comprehensive work product and gain
understanding of underlying drivers of business. Strong
interpersonal and leadership skills: Demonstrated ability to work
collaboratively with a wide range of individuals at all levels of
the organization. Strong project management skills with the ability
to manage multiple priorities with aggressive timelines.Job
