The Role Company is actively seeking a seasoned Vice President of Sales with performance marketing and e-commerce experience. The VP of Sales will be a proven sales leader with a demonstrated track record of success motivating a sales organization to achieve company sales goals and revenue objectives in a high-growth environment. The right candidate will optimize team results through hands-on leadership, engagement in sales cycles, performance management, rewards and recognition, and coaching. This position requires a self-starter who can work with limited direct supervision, is entrepreneurial in spirit, and has strong leadership skills that align to helping the company achieve quarterly and annual revenue objectives. Responsibilities: Strong leadership skills, geared toward helping build a cohesive, well performing sales team Demonstrates initiative, drive and determination to achieve results, success and growth Develops trust and models open, candid, respectful communication and collaborative teamwork Develops annual sales plan in support of organization strategy and objectives Assists executive team in the development and execution of the strategic marketing plan. Plans and directs all aspects of the company’s sales policies, objectives, and initiatives. Develops and executes a sales plan that aligns with the company’s strategic marketing plan and revenue/profitability objectives. Capable of adhering to and enforcing company best practices in pricing negotiations Oversees the direct sales function, ensuring the department employees and sales plan are organized to achieve revenue and profitability objectives. Holds regular sales meetings with staff to review progress, set goals, and communicate sales strategies. Develops and monitors key success metrics. Reports progress regularly to the executive team and the board of directors. Leads the sales team by providing coaching and training for direct reports. Develops sales quotas and holds direct sales team accountable to achieving revenue objectives. Participates in the sales cycle as needed to close deals. Acts as a face of the company at trade-shows and other key industry events. Actively seeks speaking engagements and presentations to industry leaders, prospects and other audiences in support of the strategic marketing plan. REQUIREMENTS 8 to 10 years’ experience in leading sales teams and a consistent track record of success Knowledge of e-commerce and performance marketing a plus Previous work history in a start-up or small company environment; with the ability to sell to different types and sizes of target clients Superior cross-functional collaborator with exceptional general management skills and the ability to build relationships within an organization Strong interpersonal, presentation and negotiating skills to quickly establish rapport and credibility at all levels within an organization, including the C-level and board-level Ability to work well individually and within a cross functional team
