The Real Estate Project Manager will serve as a member of the Projects & Programs Team, which provides project management, business systems analysis, and subject matter expertise to define and manage the implementation of projects for the firm in areas such as technology, real estate, knowledge management, human resources, risk management, finance, and practice management. Primary Job Responsibilities: - Manage real estate projects, as needed, for all offices related to space planning, project proposal generation and review, office renovations, office moves, build-outs, and other facilities related needs. - Manage real estate projects requiring technical expertise, knowledge of the legal environment, knowledge of the organization and logistics coordination. - Manage both complex and routine project efforts across the firm. Manage all phases and components of those projects including initiation, planning, executing and closing. Develop project plans, technical documentation, requirements, and schedules. Effectively communicate with all stakeholders. - Leverage the use of the firm's Real Estate Toolkit and Guidelines by creating checklists, spreadsheets, and other resources to assist office leadership and the Real Estate Portfolio Manager in the scope of real estate projects while meeting firm standards. - Provide periodic and specific data, reports and analysis to all relevant sponsors, stakeholders, senior leadership, and committees. Specific Skills Required: - Strong project and time management skills. - Ability to build strong working relationships with legal timekeepers including attorneys. - Successfully navigate the culture of the firm to achieve success. - Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and within budget. - Technical skills must be sufficiently advanced to allow full, meaningful participation in project meetings with technology department, along with the ability to understand the relationships and interdependencies of the major systems in the firm's environment to assure correct technical analysis is done. - Ability to work independently with limited direction. - Ability to effectively lead and motivate a project team of technical and non-technical staff. - Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and costs/benefits to non-technical personnel. - Must be able to understand business goals and requirements and translate into functional specifications and ultimately successful projects. - Ability to develop and manage a number of both technical and non-technical projects aligned to the needs of the firm and the strategic direction. - Knowledge of legal industry must be sufficient to seek out solutions that fit within the firm's environment and address the firm's needs. - Able to think creatively and act nimbly to complete projects. Specific Skills Preferred: - Working knowledge of the legal or other closely related environments. - Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. - Understanding of the Project Management Lifecycle. Education & Experience: Requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant project coordination or project management experience, or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
