Clinical Supply Chain -REMOTE OPPORTUNIAs the Sr. Specialist,
Global Clinical Supply Chain, you will ensure Takeda import/export
activities are conducted in accordance with Customs and other
applicable governmental agencies regulations. You will emphasize
developing and providing oversight to import/export distribution
processes in collaboration with Takeda teams and 3rd party vendors
to ensure compliance with all applicable import and export laws,
statutes and regulations and product quality specifications. You
will be accountable for translating international import/export
regulatory rules and policies into guidelines to for Takeda teams
and import/export group.ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide daily trade compliance support to import-export
operational activities to ensure shipments are processed timely and
properly so clinical studies and project timelines are not
affected, and supply chain pipeline is kept uninterrupted.
- Determine key trade compliance data such as Tariff
Classification, Country of Origin, Export Commerce Control Number
(ECCN), FDA product codes, NDAs, INDs and customs valuations for
products imported/exported to support Takeda projects.
- Work with internal stakeholders proactively to influence and
ensure import/export solutions being considered adhere to
international trade regulations and product quality.
- Work closely with Global Trade Compliance team members on
formal inquiries from Global Customs and/or Trade authorities to
ensure proper response is provided.
- Develop effective KPI measurable indicators for all aspects of
import-export operational activities such as volume, type of
entries, duties and transportation costs, and other available
metrics that can be built using ACE (Automated Customs Environment)
and other systems.
- Develop, publish and implement control documents (policies,
procedures, processes, and work instructions) for Import and Export
Operational activities.
- Responsible for the maintenance of key trade compliance data in
a centralized, automated import/export system.
- Assist in the review and approval billing from transportation
service providers and assist with transportation budget control,
including customs duties and taxes.
- Assist in the quarterly business review and performance
assessment of Transportation Service Providers.
- Assist in the review of contracts and task orders to ensure
international distribution pathways are aligned with the
import/export regulations and the business needs.
- Assist in the creation and adherence of export and import
compliance policies and procedures for the organization regarding
Clinical Trial Material (CTM) and raw material shipments.
- Identify key opportunities for process improvements and
implement solutions to eliminate identified compliance
deficiencies.
- Work closely with global colleagues in Clinical Supply Chain
Operations and Legal to assure alignment of import and export
compliance related activities within Takeda.
- Ensure all international product data are the ones properly
determined and approved established by the Trade Compliance
group.
- Assist in special logistics and global trade compliance
initiatives, such as C-TPAT, ISA, and other related projects
etc.EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent in experience
- Minimum 4 years experience in material
management/supplies/logistics, including 2 years experience in
importing and exporting
- 2 years experience in the Food, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device
& Clinical Supplies Industry
- Strong understanding and experience with international trade
compliance laws and regulations including but not limited to,
imports, exports, economic sanctions, Harmonization Tariff system
(HTS), country of origin, boycott laws and Free Trade
Agreements.
- Working knowledge of trusted trader programs including
Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) and Importer
Self-Assessment (ISA)In accordance with the CO Equal Pay Act,
