Living by these virtues, we pride ourselves on exceptional service and the highest quality of care.The Center for Global Health and Healing is hiring for a team-oriented and compassionatepart-time Medical Assistant for our clinic located in West Boise on Emerald, near the Boise Regional Medical Center!About this Position:As an MA at the Center for Global Health and Healing you will work 1:1 with an established provider to Saint Alphonsus, but may assist other providers and clinical staff as needed.In addition to typical MA duties, you will also conduct lab work, immunizations, phlebotomy, assist with minor procedures, joint injections, schedule prep, make patient phone calls, schedule patients, and answer phones when needed. You will also work on process improvement projects. It is similar to a family medicine clinic but focused on refugee patients.It is important to note the uniqueness of this clinic as the patient population are refugees that are new to the United States and our healthcare system. With the refugee patient population there are additional items that our MAs assist with such as the use of interpreter services and phones, helping with transportation, and other items related to their appointment, and it is important to understand these and other barriers that refugee patients may face.An ideal candidate will have an interest in working with the refugee population and understand the barriers they may face, enjoy collaborating in a team environment, is self-motivated, likes to learn, likes a busy clinic, and enjoys interacting with other cultures.Work Schedule: This positionwill work 3 -10 hour days, Mondays - Wednesdays, 7:00am - 5:30pm. Shift start and end times may vary based on provider's schedule and clinic needs.About the Center for Global Health & Healing:The Saint Alphonsus Medical Group Center for Global Health & Healing (CGHH) was created to meet the needs of families and individuals who have initially resettled within the community through the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement program. CGHH is comprised of the CARE Maternal/Child Health Clinic, International Clinic Family Medicine, Program for Survivors of Torture, Community Health Advisor Program, Travel Medicine, and Civil Surgeon Services. CGHH provides a holistic model of care through trauma informed, culturally responsive, and linguistically appropriate services for culturally and linguistically diverse populations. • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
  • American Medical Technologists (RMA)
  • National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
  • American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hireGeneral Requirements:
    • Previous clinical experience preferred.
    • Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus.
