Job Description:

qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Nampa, Idaho, 83687! Pay Information
$2,348 per week About The Position ID: 55180094 Shift: 12H Nights
7p-7a, weekends as needed, Float to all St. Lukes Treasure Valley
Sites-Meridian, Nampa, Description: Unit : LDRP | RNASAP STARTS
ONLY - NO LATE JULY OR AUGUSTwill accept 1 year experience of LDRP
Beds: 14 LDRP- patients stay in the same room - of OR Suites on the
unit for C-Sections: 2 suites- RNs will circulate and recover- of
Triage beds: 4- travelers will staff- of Births per day? Month?
Year?: 90/month, 1200/year- Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for
ratios?: Follow AWHONN Staffing Standards. 1:1 labor unless pairing
2 cervical ripening patients. Postpartum is 1:3 couplets care.
Triage 1:3, if get up to 4pts will utilize Resource nurse- Required
Certifications: NPR, BLS, ACLS, STABLE- Common diagnoses/Types of
patients: 32 week gestation and greater, HTN-getting mag, BACs,
TOLACs, some gestational diabetes, community has a lot of home
birth midwives so a lot of the population comes in for medical
intervention and pain control. Do have some antepartum patients. Do
not take placenta previa or placenta accreta. Serve a very diverse
population.- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have 3 years of
L&D experience, Must have mother baby experience- prefer 1
year, Okay with a first time traveler. Must have experience and be
able to attend deliveries and complete 1 hour of newborn care,
triage, Circulate C/S, and provide Postpartum Couplet Care. Must
have experience with magnesium. Charge nurse experience preferred.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes- Common titratable
&/or set rate drips: Yes Pitocin Protocol, Magnesium Protocol,
Insulin drips (occasionally) - Is there a Charge Nurse on each
shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Admin Supervisor
on every shift. Charge RNs do not take an assignment. Also have a
resource RN and triage RN. Resource nurse and triage nurse may
start shift with no patients, triage does fill up quickly. Resource
nurse will help with breaks, attends all deliveries "baby
catcher"-must be able to stabilize, do physical assessment and
cares within the first 2 hours, and is a 2nd sign off on meds- Are
there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? Duties?: Yes- 1 CST
per shift. 1 CNA is scheduled per shift however if they have a HUC
sick call, CNA will go in to that role, so may not have CNA
coverage-OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7?: OB hospitalist 24/7 and a
Neonatal NP 24/7-Anesthesia in house 24/7?: Yes- RT Equipment
(Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.): RT available for
troubleshooting- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs
required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele
monitors?: Do not have tele techs, have tele capability on the unit
but would rarely need- will typically tx patients out to higher
level of care if needing- EFM System: Centricity- Shifts &
Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 7-7.
Resource and Charge 0645-1845, 1845-0645, First schedule travelers
will fill in the holes, the next schedule travelers can give
preference and they will try to work with them but they will fit
them in to the schedule around core staff. Do NOT guarantee Block
Scheduling- can not work 6 shifts in a row- Weekend Requirements:
No minimum requirement. Based on unit needs and requests- Holiday
Requirements: No set requirement for travel RNs. Regular Staff have
a set holiday rotation and there are 3 groups. May work a holiday
if there is a need during contract- Is there a call or standby
requirement?: No Call Required- Floating Requirements: Float to all
St. Lukes Treasure Valley Sites-Meridian, Nampa, Boise in primary
skill set (L&D, Postpartum, or Antepartum) or as a sitter. -
Scrub Color/Dress code: Hospital issued scrubs-required to be
changed in to and out of at beginning and end of shift. - How many
shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 4 shifts on unit-
provide orientation to a C/S, labor, and Postpartum. Compliance and
EPIC Curio assignments must be completed before start.- Additional
Notes: Travelers extend and come back. Have a no fingernail lacquer
policy- do not allow acrylic or gel nails in the dept due to unique
model- NICU embedded within 7 of LDRP rooms. Travel duos will need
2 cars, can not do 1 car as they could be at different sites or
float during shift. Scrubs could be different at different sites-
this site is the only LDRP site.This facility has a radius rule of
50 miles. To ensure adherence to this rule, we will require the
candidates' perm address in the submittal to confirm they are
outside of that specified radius before proceeding with the profile
