Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry Profession: Nursing

Must-Have: - 2 years of experience as a Telemetry nurse - Cardiac
drip experience - NIH stroke assessment experience - Post
catheterization recovery experience - Chest tube experience
Description: The department consists of a Telemetry unit with 27
beds. An additional 10 beds will be added in June. Nurse-patient
ratios are 1:4. Common diagnoses include CHF, NSTEMI, STEMI,
stroke, sepsis, diabetes, CAD, renal failure, respiratory failure,
and pneumothorax. Post-cath lab patients are also cared for on this
unit. Nurses will not pull sheaths but should ideally have
experience with TR bands and Fem stops. RNs are required to read
and interpret telemetry data every 6 hours. Currently using
SpaceLab monitors with a transition to Philips. There are Telemetry
techs available on the floor until June, after which they will be
centralized off-site. Charge nurses and house supervisors are
present and will not take patients. Nurse aides are available with
a ratio of 1:8/9. Respiratory therapists manage CPAP, BiPAP, and
high flow equipment. Shifts are from 0700 to 1930 and 1900 to 0730.
Travelers will fill in staffing needs while efforts are made to
accommodate requests. Trades with peers are allowed. Weekend and
holiday coverage will be required. There is no call or standby
requirement. Floating may occur to similar units and Med/Surg as
needed. Floating may also include ICU if the nurse is experienced.
Scrub color should be clean, well-kept, and professional. This
facility has a radius rule of 50 miles for candidates.
