Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty:
Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per
Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year of experience required License:
Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must be a good
team player. Description: The unit has a total of 10 beds. Nurse to
patient ratio is typically 1:2. Common diagnoses include Heart
Failure, Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, Vented patients, GI Bleeds,
Strokes, post-surgical complications, and Pneumonia. Travelers will
not take CRRT patients. Experience in titrating drips is required.
Common titratable and/or set rate drips include Propofol, Levophed,
Dobutamine, Vasopressin, Fentanyl, Epinephrine, and Diltiazem.
There is a Charge Nurse on each shift who does not take patients.
Administrative support is available on-site 24/7. Crisis nursing
support is available 24/7. Respiratory Therapists are present in
the ICU 24/7. RNs are required to read telemetry strips. Shifts are
scheduled by the unit scheduler and may be grouped together.
Weekend availability is as needed. Floating to other units may
occur and requires flexibility. The dress code is professional and
clean attire is expected.
