OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) has an excellent full time employment opportunity for an Internal Medicine physician to join an Extensivist clinic located in Boise, Idaho. SAMG is a physician led and accountable 450 provider multispecialty group practice seeking an Internal Medicine trained Physician (MD/DO) to work full-time at its Extensivist Clinic in Boise, on the campus of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. The Extensivist clinic, similar to a Complex Care or Discharge clinic, uses an innovative team approach with a physician, advanced practice provider, pharmacist and case management to provide services to patients following an inpatient stay or Emergency Department (ED) visit. This team takes care of highly complex patients (approximately 30 encounters per week) with the goal of coordinating care, facilitating referrals, providing prescription medication education and support, and other services to ultimately reduce the likelihood of readmission to the inpatient facility or ED. The schedule for this opportunity is a traditional clinic work week with no less than 34 hours of scheduled patient contact time. There is no call currently associated with this opportunity. Support for the Extensivist clinic includes 24/7 CRNA Anesthesia; Level IV Trauma Center; ED; Saint Alphonsus Family Medicine clinic on-site; community family medicine clinics; SAHS specialty physicians who rotate in outreach clinics. The ideal candidate will have three or more years of Internal Medicine experience in a clinical setting. They must also be eligible to obtain Idaho medical licensure to practice medicine in all its phases; including valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Boards of Pharmacy and a DEA This is an exciting opportunity for the right Internal Medicine physician to join a growing team and be part of Saint Alphonsus Health System.
