Job Description:
Clean Harbors, a North American leader in environmental and
industrial services, is seeking experienced Over-The-Road (OTR)
Class A Drivers to join our transportation team. In this role, you
will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of
hazardous materials, ensuring the highest levels of safety and
compliance with all regulatory bodies. This position is vital in
helping Clean Harbors maintain its commitment to sustainability and
environmental stewardship by ensuring the secure handling and
transportation of potentially hazardous substances. Safely
transport hazardous materials in compliance with federal, state,
and local regulations. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and
safety issues and perform preventative maintenance planning. Plan
routes and meet delivery schedules, document and log work/rest
periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight,
route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with
company policies and procedures. Report defects, accidents, or
violations and respond to emergency spills and situations as
needed. Maintain communication with dispatch to report any issues
or variances in the delivery schedule. Proven work experience as a
truck driver with hazardous materials. Hands-on experience with
electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.).
Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly. Extensive
knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations
(traffic, weather conditions, etc.). Strong stamina and physical
resilience. Medical Insurance 401k Valid Class A Commercial
Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous Materials Endorsement (H or
X). Clean driving record and capable of meeting and maintaining
stringent DOT requirements. CPR/First Aid certification may be
beneficial.
