DescriptionPosition SummaryThrough a respectful, constructive, and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the organization, this position is primarily responsible for payroll/timesheet input, accounts payable processing and data entry and other organizational and file maintenance activities. This position involves technical work requiring standards of accuracy, detail, and timeliness, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processing in compliance with regulations and accepted practices.RequirementsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesThe successful candidate must possess:Interpersonal communication skills that support a positive and highly collegial work environment Computer skills, including knowledge of accounting/payroll software, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook The ability and knowledge to efficiently prepare bi-weekly payroll The ability to process accounts payable and credit card transactions timely and accurately with great attention to detail; preparation of accounts payable checks weeklyThe ability to reconcile credit card statements monthly, ensuring statement balances are paid in full by the end of each month. Possess knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, including file management and record retentionBasic writing skills utilizing proper grammar and spelling, and be able to clearly present ideas in writing. Perform tasks with attention to detail, to think independently, use logical, analytical problem-solving skills, and resolve discrepancies. Ability to be adaptable to changing circumstances and have the ability to adjust and prioritize various duties and assignments. Desired QualificationsThe knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to two years of post-secondary education in accounting or business, and two years related payroll, accounts payable or bookkeeping experience. The incumbent should also have working knowledge of English, math, business administration, office practices and procedures, and terminology. Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMust be bondable and insurable.
