We are an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.Position Description OverviewYour typical day will be spent working with a talented group of senior-level professionals in government contracting, as part of a distributed workforce including multiple office locations, in support of Federal government efforts in multiple states, four foreign locations, two corporate offices, one in Chantilly, Virginia, and your home office in Boise, Idaho. In this position, you will be responsible for processing payroll for approximately 120-140 employees. In this position, you will be wholly responsible for the accuracy, completeness and filing of payroll-related tax filings and other payroll-related reporting.Additionally, you will work closely with the CFO and other Executive Management to assist in maintaining accounting records, maintaining a comprehensive set of controls on revenues/expenses on multiple Federal contracts, ensuring the accuracy of the organization's financial transactions/reports for multiple projects. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, must possess strong accounting, risk mitigation, and analytical skills, and maintain an overall compliance mindset.Payroll ResponsibilitiesReview employee timecards, verify for accuracy and completeness, and process the company's payroll using ADP Workforce Now.Work with Program Managers and other Company personnel to ensure payroll deadlines are met.Review and process payroll adjustments, including vacation, PTO, sick, or other time off.Document processes, keep organized payroll records, and document adjustments for audit purposes.Create and maintain payroll data reports in Excel, as requested. Generate ad hoc Excel reports from ADP, csv downloads and other data sources.Enter employee, payroll, or benefit changes into ADP Workforce Now.Validate other payroll earnings and deductions such as bonuses, benefit plan deductions, including Flexible Spending, Commuter benefits and 401(K).Reconcile payroll to benefit related billing.Oversee and ensure compliance with federal, multi-state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and payroll best practices. This includes research and understanding of new laws that impact payroll activities.Ability to create and run system reports as requested, including preparation of entries for recording payroll transactions into the company general ledger.Coordinate and process monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities.Answer inquiries from employees related to payroll, and resolve any identified payroll discrepancies independently, while documenting changes and notifying payroll team.Prepare and maintain payroll calendars for both Bi-weekly and Semi-monthly payroll.Assist the CFO with other general accounting-related responsibilities as assigned.Basic QualificationsA minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in processing multi-state payroll processing is required.Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the payroll process.At least 1 year of experience processing payroll and Time Off with ADP Workforce Now is required.Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and reporting requirementsPrior experience in government contracting, and Service Contract Act (SCA) desired but not required.Ability to work independently, and to proactively identify and solve problems.Collaborate and communicate effectively within a small team, verbally and in writing.Work well under pressure, organize and set priorities, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.High attention to detail.Ability to recognize process improvement opportunities, make recommendations and implement improvements in a collaborative team environment.Physical Demands And Work RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
