Come join the Department of Insurance (DOI) Team!We are seeking an outstanding individual who is detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with excellent customer service skills! The selected candidate will be one of the five key players in our Company Activities - Licensing section..This Technical Records Specialist 1 position works with insurance licensing professionals submitting applications or renewing licenses via an electronic system for over twelve different license types; makes sure all parts of the process meet compliance standards; provides information and education to customers on Licensing protocols and procedures in a professional and courteous manner. This positions requires cross-training in all areas of the licensing section, including the continuing education program for resident licensees. This cross-training helps to increase the skills and knowledge of all team members. Additionally, an excellent benefits package is offered including the newly added paid parental leave, as well as the commitment to a work-life balance.The mission of the Department of Insurance is toserve and protect Idahoans by equitably, effectively and efficiently administering theIdaho Insurance Code and the International Fire Code.* Check daily mail for payments and distribute;* Use a proprietary software to complete work in a variety of functional areas;* Use a digital filing system;* Review and update website forms/templates and section transaction procedures;* Participate in meetings, trainings, and act as consultant for licensees and other section of the Department;* Provide outstanding customer service while interacting with people by phone, in-person, and email;* Learn about insurance topics, including insurance regulation through online training, participating on industry conference calls, webinars, and extra opportunities to earn insurance industry designations.Experience: * Monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors;* Researching a variety of sources to resolve problems; * Interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments; * Entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system.Preferred qualifications:* Provide customer service and Interact/communicate effectively in person, through email and on the telephone;* Maintain strict confidentiality of non-public information;* Utilize Microsoft Office software (such as Excel) and automated record management systems;* Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.Desired candidate abilities:* Operate multi-line telephone system, desktop computer, calculator, printer, copier, and fax machine;* Multitask, organize, and prioritize;* Develop and provide reports and correspondence;* Work collaboratively and independently, as needed;* Attend work reliably according to work schedule.Hiring is done without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
