Who is Oracle Cloud Hardware Team?
Oracle Cloud Hardware Team provides a family of tools, utilities,
and connectors to manage, monitor and configure Oracle's SPARC &
x86 servers used in Oracle Cloud . All of these systems contain an
Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager service processor which
provides in-band and out-of-band interfaces for these tasks. The
key components and tools for management and monitoring tasks
are:
Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM)
Oracle Hardware Management Pack (HMP)
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Software Engineer and work on
exciting, enterprise-grade system management products with a focus
on deployment in Oracle Cloud. Our unique team works on everything
from low-level hardware interfaces to network-facing API service
interfaces -- and everything in between. We control the full
life-cycle of the software from architecture to release. Help shape
the system management offerings for Oracle's cutting-edge systems
while working with some of the most talented and experienced
software developers in the business.
Job Summary:
The Oracle Cloud Hardware team is looking for great talent to
design, develop and deploy multipurpose systems management
solutions to Oracle public and private clouds. As a principal
software engineer, you will focus on identifying and solving system
management problems at scale, collaborating with our engineering
teams, establishing best practices, and promoting good software
development practices throughout the Oracle Single System
Management Team. The ideal candidate loves both building and
breaking software. You will be expected to balance multiple
competing priorities, including designing solutions that can be
deployed to both cloud and enterprise, are secure and scalable with
an eye toward managing the lifecycle of the feature - from design,
development, testing to deployment, monitoring, and
maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Hardware teams, Cloud teams, and other internal
consumers of system management stack in designing systems
management solutions
Identify areas where our programs can be improved (especially
through automation), and where possible implement those
improvements
Identify, reproduce, and address system management issues
Collaborate with security engineers to make our software secure
Conduct internal design reviews, code reviews, and security
reviews
Collaborate with internal security compliance teams to make
software meet or exceed compliance obligations
Research, propose, and evangelize new technologies, approaches,
processes to enhance teams software development and delivery
Mentor junior software developers and SQA personnel
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related
field
10+ years in the field of software development
Expertise with static code analysis & testing tools (Burp, Fortify,
etc.)
Capable of working independently
Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks
Excellent communication skills in English
Programming experience (C/C++, Linux Programming, bash, Python,
Java).
Bonus:
Experience with Cloud security and architecture concepts.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Familiarity with common compliance standards.
Recognized industry certification and/or continuing education
programs are a major plus.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific
to the stated locations only
US: Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to
account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market
conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing
products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the
preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
