Director, Pharmacy Specialty Care
POSITION PURPOSE : The Director, Specialty Care is responsible
for developing, implementing, communicating, and monitoring
specialty care programs specific to therapeutic categories and
conditions with strategic value to Albertsons Companies Specialty
Care. The Director will oversee the Specialty Care team in Livonia,
MI and Boise, ID and partner with the Division Directors of
Pharmacy Operations, DPMs and Division Patient Care Service
Managers to implement new programs, ensure quality controls are in
place for existing programs and implementing systems and processes
to maximize efficiency. The Director will be responsible to develop
strategies to maximize Specialty scripts, sales, and margin.
Responsible for executing the strategic direction and providing
leadership for all business development opportunities that come
from manufacturers and specialty vendors for the management of
specialty medications. Oversees the design and tracks ROI for
programs with manufacturers, HUB's, other specialty pharmacies,
physician groups, employers, and third-party payers.
Responsible for specialty care services execution and leadership
for the specialty care team. React to metrics that measure revenue,
accreditation standards, customer service scores and productivity
to maximize profitability.
Working closely with Managed Care, develops strategies to
maximize revenue and margin with payers for specialty pharmacy
medications and services.
Pilot and implement innovative specialty care models that bring
value to the company and to the patient and continually develop and
iterate the innovative models until they become a standard of care
at Albertsons Specialty Care.
Responsible for responding to RFP's for limited distribution
products and developing relationships with manufacturers to
establish programs to support patients on therapy.
Responsible for promoting Albertsons Companies Specialty Care
solution for Specialty fulfillment to third party payers and
employers working closely with Managed Care.
Formulate and implement protocols for specialty care and patient
care to support and maintain patients on specialty pharmacy
medications. Division backstage training and support to roll-out
and execute specialty protocols at community pharmacies.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Pharmacy required (B.S. or PharmD).
Minimum 3 years clinical or patient care experience.
Previous experience negotiating contracts and agreements with

Previous recruiting experience preferred.
Knowledge of community pharmacy practice.
Knowledge of Albertsons Pharmacies operations and systems to
facilitate the incorporation of SP services at retail level.
Knowledge of emerging Specialty Pharmacy (SP) medications and

systems to facilitate the incorporation of SP services at
Albertsons Companies community pharmacies.
Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws.
Knowledge of financial reports and utilize to develop strategies
