The Shift Process Engineer role is responsible for tactically monitoring the health of area processes, ensuring expedient lot movement, and reacting to area process issues that impact quality, cycle time (CT) or turns. Shift Process Engineers support existing processes, identify process and material improvements and correct process deviations. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Safety & Quality:Finishes the required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with safety policies and lawsFollows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with partnersPerforms and facilitates audits and submits good catches on safety issuesDedicatedly reduces incidents of personal injuries, safety hazards or environmental releasesFollows proper change management practices to ensure quality and safety expectations are metEnsures proper tool documentation/reaction mechanisms exist and submits updates to content when neededCommunication & Teamwork:Partners with 1st shift teams to resolve tool process issues and improve tool outputCollaborates with supervisor and areas leaders to craft personal performance and development goalsCommunicates dedicatedly with MDE shift and Shift Ops leaders on the daily priorities and issuesAttends and participates in TPM Teams, SPC, and other meetingsPartners with other shift Engineers/Technicians to capture input for area improvementCommunicates issues that could cause yield loss, excursions, defects, tool restrictions, or output lossProactively communicates known impacts of special processing requests and potential process holds to Shift Ops and 1st shift Process OwnersTechnical/Data Analysis:Ensures the quality process of daily operations, communicates process holds, and executes action plansWrites and modifies recipes to enable efficient tool processing and experimentationRuns and handles progress on critical process related experimentsSupports and monitors area processes and tools and addresses/escalates issuesAnalyzes data to make critical decisions and drive cost reduction activitiesSupports resolution of area CT/capacity related issuesMonitors equipment usage and production efficiency to ensure max output and turnsProvides QDR documentation and dedicated follow-up on issues and excursionsResponds to chronic SPC performance issues by working towards fix root causeProvides troubleshooting support for complex process problemsProject Management/Planning:Supports area projects to ensure work is completed within the required scope, schedule and budgetTracks actions and provides partner concern path or resources to ensure actions will be completed on timeCoordinates and leads meetings and initiates follow-up actionsYou will have the following Qualifications:Intermediate PC skills including a familiarity with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPointIntermediate knowledge of the process flow related to area equipmentStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to efficiently organize tasks and projectsStrong partnering and teamwork skillsIntermediate understanding of the Fab process areas including area processing equipmentDeep understanding of SPC principlesDeep understanding of the use and risks of GeRMIntermediate understanding of Probe and Param functionsShown ability to communicate and present effectivelyIntermediate data extraction, analysis, and reporting skillsProven ability to multi-task in a high-paced environmentValidated ability to solve complex problems and address root causesIntermediate knowledge of physics, area chemistry, and algebraic conceptsStrong analytical problem solving skillsConfirmed time management, organization, and prioritization skillsTried ability to tackle issues related to process flowsConfirmed ability to follow procedures and work with minimal supervisionFlexible with job responsibilities and shift assignmentsEducation and Experience:Required: BS in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or equivalent semiconductor industry experience; however, other engineering or related disciplines may be consideredAbout UsAs the leader in innovative memory solutions, Micron is helping the world make sense of data by delivering technology that is transforming how the world uses information.
