JOB BRIEF:
- The Membrane Operator is a key member of the production team.
The operator must have: Knowledge of production lines and
equipment. Possess the ability to trouble-shoot and resolve issues;
Responsible for system efficiencies and operation of equipment.
SCHEDULE:
- Night Shift, 6:00pm - 6:30am. Subject to change according to
business needs. -BENEFITS:

-JOB SUMMARY:
- The Membrane Operator is a key member of the production team.
The Membrane Operator must have: Knowledge of all production lines
and equipment. Possess the ability to trouble-shoot and resolve
issues; Responsible for system efficiencies, operation of
manufacturing equipment, and cleaning and maintaining the
production process equipment: Sound communication skills, both
verbal and written. The Membrane Operator assists the Production
Supervisor in the development and training of team members as
assigned. The Membrane Operator ensures that; all documentation is
timely, accurate, and complete, that GMP's, Sanitation requirements
and performance measures are tracked and met. -ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS,
DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes pre-operational checks on all equipment before
starting a process.
- Checks components of raw materials and finished product in
accordance with published SOP's.
- Reviews department and system performances daily. Offers ideas
and suggestions on how to improve the quality of the product or
process.
- Follows published SSOP's for equipment and processes.
- Collects all samples in accordance with SOP's.
- Completes all work instructions, production log sheets, and
sanitation log sheets accurately and in a timely manner.
- Operates equipment in accordance to SOP's. Make corrections
based system out-puts and operational data.
- Monitors and documents chemical additions and consumption
compared to standards. Informs supervisor of any issues or
concerns.
- Initiates daily CIP of process lines and support
equipment.
- Verifies CIP systems performance.
- Arrives for work on time and ready to help operate the business
successfully.
- Starts, operates, and cleans process and equipment in
accordance to the production plan.
- Offers ideas and suggestions on "How to Improve" the process
and System SOP's, SSOP's and Sanitation Program.
- Complies with all OSHA and plant published safety
regulations.
- Submits ideas and suggestions on how to improve safety.
- Communicates safety issues and concerns to the Production
Supervisor.
- Participates as a member of the team and treats others in a
like manner.
- Supports greater employee involvement and actively participates
in operating the shift.
- Utilizes shift pass-down meetings and plant meetings to
communicate your ideas and suggestion for improving plant
operations.
- Learns new concepts, accepts and embraces change.
- Prepares for your employee review.
- Completes other projects as assigned. -JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND
QUALIFICATIONS:Education:
- Required: High school diploma/GED or equivalent work-related
experience.Experience:
- Production plant environment experience a plus.
- Industrial production operator experience a plus.Skills:
- Must be team oriented.
- Be able to support others while achieving goals.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.Physical
Requirements:
- Excessive ascending and/or descending of ladders and stairs
using feet and legs and/or hands and arms on a rare occasion. Body
agility is emphasized.
- Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly
for short distances on a regular basis.
- Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at
the waist on a regular basis.
- Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.
- Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something
with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or
outward.
- Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to
draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or
knees occasionally.
- Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg
and spine.
- Lifting: Able to lift up to 15lbs on a regular basis and up to
75lbs occasionally.
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken
word. Includes activities in which they must convey detailed or
important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly,
or quickly.
- Subject to up to at least 92db's.
- Subject to extreme heat: Temperatures above 100
degrees.Equipment Operated:
- Membranes, Chemical Handling, CIP Systems, Bagging and Bulk
bagging equipment, Palletizer, Scales, Miscellaneous Manufacturing
Equipment, Personal Computer, Copy Machine, Calculator, Analytical
Equipment, Phone, Forklift, hand tools, and lifts.
