to hire a *Full-Time Registered Nurse* for our
Neuro/Surgical/Trauma (NeST) ICU at our Level II Trauma Center in
Boise! This position will be located at our [Regional Medical

off I-184 and Curtis Rd. *The hours for this position are 7:00 a.m.
- 7:30 p.m. *
Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center is recognized as a Level II
Trauma Center, Level I Comprehensive Stroke Center, and will be
opening the first Neuro/Surgical/Trauma unit of its kind in Idaho
in early 2023. The unit will have the only board certified,
fellowship- trained neuro critical care doctors in the state and
will provide necessary and emergent care to patients in the area
and Treasure Valley. Our goal is to create a Neuroscience Center of
Excellence at Saint Alphonsus and advance medicine in the Treasure
Valley by accepting challenges, pushing boundaries and being the
answer. This is a great opportunity for experienced critical care

nurses looking to expand their skill set in a critical care
setting.

*This position is eligible for consideration of a $10,000 sign on
bonus, relocation assistance, and a housing stipend (dependent on
location)! In addition, we offer competitive wages, on-call pay,
and shift differentials depending on work schedules.*

**
*About the department:* ***The NeST ICU will offer the specialty
fellowship training of a Neuro Intensivist and other critical care
medicine physicians and surgeons. They will provide next-level care
for critically ill neurologic patients. *RN's working in the NeST
ICU will care for post operative patients along with patients with
traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, seizures, strokes,
and other neurological disorders. This will be a fast paced,
high-pressure environment that will care for some of the area's
highest acuity neuro patients. Within the unit there will be 18
critical care beds and 17 step down beds. The unit offers strong
leadership and great opportunities for growth and advancement.
*About this position: *As an RN at Saint Alphonsus Health System,
you will provide hands-on patient care while collaborating with
colleagues, maintaining accurate documentation, and utilizing
resources wisely. You will serve as a patient advocate by promoting
their physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being. You will also
be expected to educate patients, administer prescribed medications
and treatments, and develop care plans based on patient needs.
* Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all
assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and
Geriatric as applicable).
* Ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies
provided to the patients.
* Demonstrates compliance with hospital safety policies and
procedures.
* Performs and documents comprehensive physical and psychosocial
assessments.
* Educates patient based on assessment of needs. Develops,
implements and evaluates a plan of care based on patient's
needs.
* Communicates patient's current status and plan of care to other
caregivers (verbally and in writing).
* Prepares, gives and evaluates the effectiveness of
medications.
* Demonstrates safe operation of patient care equipment.
* Establishes therapeutic and professional boundaries.
* Integrates knowledge, experience, professional standards and
hospital policies into nursing practice.
* Meets unit specific technical skills.
* Practices with the rules and regulations defined by the Idaho
State Board of Nursing.

level of confidence and a strong interest in working with high
acuity patients. They will be adaptive change and have strong
critical thinking skills. In addition, our ideal candidate will be
Stroke Certified or a Certified Neuro RN.
*General Requirements:*
* Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Idaho
* American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
for HealthCare Provider (ACLS) at date of hire
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 12
months of hire
* Prior critical care experience preferred
