The Event Coordinator is responsible for coordinating internal events, managing new event inquiries, and coordinating Grove Plaza activities. Reporting to the Senior Event Manager, the Event Coordinator supports the Event Management team with event logistics, execution, event assessment and invoicing. The Event Coordinator should be knowledgeable with events and communicate clearly with internal staff and clients regarding facility policies and regulations.OUR PURPOSE:As Idaho's premier event venue, our mission is to WOW our guests with unforgettable experiences. Our team of passionate, creative professionals are devoted to excellence in food, service, amenities, and venue management.Learn more about the Boise Centre team here: wage range: $20.16-$27.54 per hour, depending on experienceWHY WORK AT BOISE CENTRE?Exposure to community partners and large conventions while working events, this is a great chance to network!Opportunities to grow within Boise CentreAbility to cross train with other departments at Boise CentreComplimentary meals provided to the employee while working events (with meal service)Phenomenal team atmosphere and professional culture, WOWgisitics!JOB LEVELEntry level (less than 2 years)**Internal candidates must submit a letter of recommendation from their current supervisor**BENEFITS:Group Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance Benefits401(a) Retirement Savings Plan457 Deferred Compensation PlanEmployee Assistance ProgramFlexible Spending AccountParking (based on availability)Generous PTO PlanTen Paid HolidaysWHAT DO EVENT COORDINATORS DO?Assists Event Managers with event logistics including; menu selection, facility tours, preliminary and post conference meetings and other production elementsIdentifies client needs and expectations to create Banquet Event OrdersDevelops detailed plans, diagrams and maps to distribute to production departmentsCoordinates internal events, including; trainings, staff meetings, and various employee eventsAssists with internal boardroom calendarsCoordinates event space and usage for Grove Plaza activitiesAttends client and event related meetings and takes detailed minutes during appropriate meetingsMaintains detailed event files and electronic recordsActively uses company electronic systems to manage projects and client informationAssists with assessing the event's overall success and submits findings and data to supportAssists with gathering final event information and data to compile and complete event invoicesResponds to new event inquiries and acts as the facility representative for new clientsManages all website, electronic event inquiries, phone inquiries, and responds and distributes appropriatelyCollaborates with all internal departments to ensure the success of our meetings, conferences and eventsMonitors and creates all external signage to ensure current and correct event information is displayedAssists Event Managers as needed with direction from Senior Event ManagerParticipates in department, company, industry and trade related professional organizations and trainingPerforms a variety of related tasks and duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:A minimum of 2 years of experience with events or hospitality, preferredAssociates in hospitality, preferredIntermediate computer skills and ability to learn new softwarePossess a very high attention to detailAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general publicAbility to write reports, business correspondence and other business documentsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentagesAbility to troubleshoot, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusionsAbility to perform multiple functions in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work in a high-stress, high-volume work environmentAbility to prioritize tasks and be flexible with changes in work loadsAssesses multiple demands and priorities and identifies necessary resources to handle critical work demandsProvides timely and thorough customer service to internal and external customersCommunicates regularly within department and cross functional teamsInteracts professionally and effectively with othersAbility to read, understand, and carry out simple and detailed written or verbal instructionsAbility to use professional radio etiquetteProfessionally deal with own emotions, reactions, and motivations and maintain a courteous demeanor at all timesPresent a neat, clean and professional, appearance by following established grooming and uniform standardsResponsible to be dependable and a self-starterRegular and reliable work attendance at scheduled time on-siteWorks as a team player, sharing knowledge and skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Involves light physical activity, performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative natureConstantly involves sitting, using hands and fingers, talking and hearingFrequently involves standing and walkingOccasional bending, stooping, kneeling and twistingOccasional reaching and use of ladders, stools and stairsOccasional lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 poundsOccasionally required to travelMust be willing to work outside of normal business hours, long hours, weekends, evenings, and holidaysPI197747359
