Job Description:

Idaho Power - located in vibrant Boise, Idaho - is looking for a Departmental Specialist to join our Corporate Communications team.

While this position is based at Idaho Power's downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.

What does a Departmental Specialist in Corporate Communications do for us?

This role works closely with several departmental staff and external vendors to help achieve the company's marketing and communications goals.

Provides support for the entire Corporate Communications department, including visuals, marketing, public relations, and internal communications. Supports multiple leaders and staff, including the vice president of corporate services and communications as needed.

Typical duties include maintaining department procedures, organizing project materials, and coordinating with other business units to support high-quality deliverables. Assignments involve work of a confidential nature and require knowledge of company policies and programs.

Primary Job Duties:

Coordinates the communications department's events and projects, including working with print shops and external vendors.
Originates correspondence and reports.
Distributes and/or relays information to other departments, internal clients, and external customers.
Trains others in department processes and procedures and may be responsible for filing systems, developing office procedures and other organizational tasks.
Assists in development of new reporting systems and conversion to software-based applications.
Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
Monitors, responds to, and coordinates internal and external email inquiries.
Supports internal communications channels and programs, including intranet and newsletter.
Supports external communications channels and programs, including customer bill communications.
Supports annual budget planning and performs monthly budgetary duties.
Represents department on enterprise-wide teams and performs other duties as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Knowledge of:

The department's functional areas and/or company policies & procedures.
Department-specific systems and software, e.g. SharePoint, Asset Suite, etc.

Skills in:

Proficient in the operation of systems and software.
Solid editing and proofreading skills to assist in composing the format and content of correspondence and technical documents.
Application of proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar when proofreading.

Ability to:

Understand and apply basic mathematical calculations and concepts involving fractions, decimals, percentages, etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of formal education and work experience.
Prefer:
2 years of company experience

Licenses & Certifications:

Driver's License required for employees in the Apparatus or System Protection and Communication or Real Estate group.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people.
