Description:The Security Staff is responsible for monitoring and responding to security and emergency situations at Boise Centre's facility and events, as assigned. Reporting to the Safety and Security Manager, the Security Staff follows safety and security policies and procedures to maintain a secure facility for clients, guests, and employees. The Security Staff is responsible for providing excellent customer service by promptly responding to questions or concerns regarding the safety and security of Boise Centre.OUR PURPOSE:As Idaho's premier event venue, our mission is to WOW our guests with unforgettable experiences. Our team of passionate, creative professionals are devoted to excellence in food, service, amenities, and venue management.WAGE:Complete wage range: $17.28-$22.84 per hour, depending on experienceWHY WORK AT BOISE CENTRE?Flexible part-time scheduleExposure to community partners and large conventions while working events, this is a great chance to network!Opportunities to grow within Boise CentreAbility to cross train with other departments at Boise CentreEmployee assistance programComplimentary meals provided to the employee while working events (with meal service)Phenomenal team atmosphere and professional culture, WOWgisitics!WHAT DO SECURITY STAFF DO?Monitors events and building activities to ensure the safety of clients, guests, and employeesResponds to security and emergency situations, safety incidents, and resolves operational issuesCommunicates regularly with supervisors and other departments to ensure the success of events by providing timely, respectful, and thorough customer serviceDocuments incidents to share with the Safety and Security ManagerResponds quickly to client and department needs and changesAssists with loading dock traffic and freight elevator activitiesEnforces all state or federal codes, and organizational policies related to safety and securityMonitors Boise Centre properties, Grove Plaza, and Grove extensionsMonitors safety equipment; first aid kits, AEDs, fire extinguishers, and personal protective equipment (PPE)Provides additional labor support for Operational, Event, or Facility related needsParticipates in department, company, and industry related professional organizations and trainingUses professional radio etiquette to communicate work-related informationPerforms a variety of related tasks and duties as assignedRequirements:REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:One year of event or crowd control experience, preferredMinimum age requirement of 19 years old due to alcohol containmentKnowledge of life safety guidelines, emergency, and security protocolsMaintain a calm demeanor in times of crisis or pressureManages workday efficientlyAbility to become CPR/First Aid certifiedProficient record keeping, spreadsheet, and word processing skillsAdvanced communication skills and ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, internal staff, clients, customers, and the general publicAbility to perform multiple functions in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work in a high-stress, high-volume work environmentAbility to prioritize tasks and be flexible with changes in work loadsAssesses multiple demands and priorities and identifies necessary resources to handle critical work demandsAbility to read, understand, and carry out simple and detailed written or verbal instructionsProvides timely and thorough customer service to internal and external customersCommunicates regularly within department and cross functional teamsInteracts professionally and effectively with othersProfessionally deal with own emotions, reactions, and motivations and maintain a courteous demeanor at all timesPresent a neat, clean, and professional appearance by following established grooming and uniform standardsResponsible to be dependable and a self-starterRegular and reliable work attendance at scheduled time on-siteWorks as a team player, sharing knowledge and skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and perform heavy manual labor for extended periodsFrequently will: stand and walk for long periods of time; bend, stoop, kneel, and twist; reach and use of ladders, stools, and stairs; lift, push and pull up to 50 poundsOccasionally will: ascend tall heights up to 22 feet and work in outdoor weather conditions, be exposed to moderate noise levelsMust be willing to work outside of normal business hours, long hours, weekends, evenings, overnights, and holidaysPI201687069
