The Idaho Transportation Department is recruiting for an individual to perform semi-skilled duties in the operation and maintenance of buildings and related facilities and systems; perform related work. This dynamic position is based at ITD Headquarters in Boise, Idaho, and requires demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience. Note: This position will require a criminal background check prior to hire.--Mowing, Yard Care and Winter Snow Removal * Mowing of Grounds - Grass Areas and South Lot for weed control* Weed Spraying* Watering* Tree Trimming* Fertilization of yard* Snow Plowing/Shoveling Equipment Maintenance, Repair and Office Organization * Shop Organization work area cleaning* Tool Control* Equipment Cleaning and Maintenance (oil changes, sharpening and fixing) Office Reports * Fuel Reports* Timesheets Miscellaneous. * Shovels snow* Conducts preventive maintenance on building devices and systems* Operates equipment such mowers, forklifts, tractors, snowplows, saws, jointers, sweepers, and presses* Maintains hand and power tools associated with mechanics, carpentry, electrical plumbing, and general building maintenance* Installs door and lock hardware* Moves furniture* Assists other maintenance staff performing general related duties Some knowledge of: * Heating and cooling system maintenance and repair Experience: * Performing semi-skilled maintenance and repair involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance trades work* Using and maintaining tools and equipment normally associated with carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, and electrical work Incumbents may work in all weather conditions and move in and around confined spaces. These positions are maintenance oriented. When working under the supervision of a licensed journeyman in a respective trade area incumbents can be an apprentice in that specialty. Work involves lifting and carrying items weighing approximately 90 pounds, bending, stooping, shoveling, and climbing ladders. Work may be required in remote and rugged terrain.
