Albertsons Companies has an exciting new opportunity to lead the Demand Planners and Senior Demand Planners within Albertsons Supply Chain Organization. The demand planning manager has a keen sense of what drives end to end supply efficiency while also driving retail results. Position Overview:
The Demand Planning Manager will report to the Corporate Director of Procurement. The position will be based in Boise, Idaho. The primary responsibility of this position will be to create the best possible demand forecast to support Distribution Center and store replenishment activities throughout Albertsons network, the results of which are improved in stock conditions and optimized inventory levels. The Demand Planning manager will interact with several other positions within supply chain and retail to support this primary responsibility. To achieve the goal of creating that demand forecast, the manager must be highly analytical in reviewing data and key metrics that support the creation of the demand plan. The manager must use the analysis of forecast data to identify coaching and mentoring opportunities and to drive best practice adoption across their team. Key Accountabilities :

• Manage Key Performance Indicators for Demand Planning organization
• Lead, coach and mentor the Senior Demand Planners, and Demand Planners
• Collaborate and set target benchmarks for Senior Demand Planners and Demand Planners for forecast accuracy
• Define and manage Collaboration/Consensus meetings for forecast reviews with partners from Merchandising, various Supply Chain functions including DC replenishment, Strategic Sourcing, Own Brands and other backstage departments that should be included in the process.
• Work with Retail Support Team on store level forecast opportunities to ensure best possible in stock condition for Retail Stores.
• Work with Demand Planners on specific forecast opportunities to ensure best in stock condition through proper forecast tuning procedures
• Participate in technology partner user groups to help drive future enhancements
• Review APE/MAPE/WMAPE/BIAS reports with Demand Planners and Senior Demand Planners to continuously increase overall forecast accuracy for the Retail Store and DC Replenishment Plans.
• Manage Day in a life activities for Demand Planners and Senior Demand Planners to ensure all aspects of job are adhered to.
• Ensure that NPI and Disco processes are being followed to ensure success for item lifecycle management
• Work with Replenishment Planners on formulating DC replenishment plan by QTR. This will provide guidance into DC quarterly projections for Inventory and throughput
• Review promotional forecast accuracy to ensure high rate of success and help optimize inventory flow
• Participate in driving strategic collaborative planning processes with internal and external business partners Experience Level:
  • 5+ years of Demand Planning experience or relevant work in Procurement or Purchasing (ideally in Grocery Retail, Retail or CPG).
  • 2-5 years of leadership experience, including management of key performance indicators for a team or department. Skills and Experiences:
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills
    • Excellent understanding of Demand Planning concepts
    • Knowing how to Lead, Coach and Mentor employees, and obtain best results from the team
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Must have the ability to interpret data, and determine next steps to course correct based on the data is providing
    • High level understanding of BI platforms, and data presented in dashboard formats
    • Good understanding of Data Mining and Report writing platforms. This includes, but not limited to, systems and functions like, Snowflake, QMF for Workstations, Power BI, MS Excel and Access
    • Working knowledge of other functions with the Supply Chain and Distribution organization. This ranges from Procurement to Manufacturing, to Logistics, and Inventory Management
