Job Description The Modern Hotel and Bar is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team immediately. Compensation is $15-16 / hour DOE. The Maintenance Technician's role at the Modern Hotel and Bar requires a person who is organized, proactive, and skilled at communicating with co-workers and contractors. They will be part of a team responsible for the hotel---s infrastructure and ensuring the premises remain safe and functioning at all times. This includes being on-call at least 2 days a week. Experience with electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems is essential. Your goal will be to ensure the hotel premises are safe and functioning --- in a timely, courteous, professional manner --- resulting in a very high level of guest and staff satisfaction. Job Responsibilities (Include but not limited to): Inspect hotel regularly to ensure it meets safety standards Perform routine maintenance in hotel rooms, lobby and facilities Grounds maintenance, including lawn mowing, trimming and blowing Organize and perform repair projects in a manner that does not disturb guests Help plan and oversee renovations and construction Act fast to resolve emergency issues (e.g. power outages, clogged toilet) Find ways to reduce hotel operating costs and conserve energy Communicate with contractors and service providers Maintain budgets, expenses and activity logs Other duties as assigned by supervisor Requirements / Qualifications: Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to function and be courteous in a diverse work environment Proven experience in hotel maintenance Knowledge of health and safety regulations Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, sewer and HVAC systems Experience in administrative processes and internet applications Ability to spot safety risks and address needs quickly Problem-solving aptitude Ability to learn computer functions and other on-the-job skills We expect all staff members to take COVID-19 precautions and protocols seriously Benefits: You will be enrolled in Nice Healthcare --- comprehensive primary care services --- the 1st of month following the date of hire.
