Overview: NLC's business is education, our coursework typically involves printed materials, so we ensure that the quality of those printed materials is world class. In addition to printing our campus and corporate material, customers from around the globe rely on us for our prompt delivery of printed coursework through our remote learning programs. As a part of the Print Production department, you will help ensure our printed materials are produced in a timely fashion while keeping quality a priority, so that each student and customer receives exceptional customer service and materials. In this position you will have the opportunity to::
Operates and maintains digital presses. Makes small repairs when possible and requests outside maintenance technician(s) when needed and keeps logs on machine maintenance and uptime. Maintains consumable supply stock for all digital presses.
Sets up, imposes, processes, and submits print jobs using rip software according to printing specifications for each job. Uses graphic and/or VDP software to personalize or correct files. Monitors, manages, and calibrates device(s) for color consistency and accuracy. Creates substrate profiles for each substrate in both DFE and rip software.
Coordinates with print production staff members to ensure precise adherence to corporate identity standards and quality levels for materials produced.
Trims printed sheets down to size according to job specifications using print finishing equipment. Maintains finishing equipment adhering to regular machine maintenance cycles.
Feeds pages and related articles into binding machines; threads spirals in perforated holes of items to be bound; punches holes in paper sheets and fastens sheets, signatures, or other materials; applies creases, cuts, folds, coats, or other finishing operations to meet specifications. Ensures document quality is checked before, during, and after binding.
Proactively prioritizes and schedules workflow according to print production needs. Cross-trains with other employees to ensure department uptime.
Maximizes workflow efficiency, safety, and productivity at every opportunity.

Required Education & Experience::
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum four (4) years' experience working in a professional print production environment
